1. Agreement and provider
By using HouseManual, you agree to these terms. The app provider is the publisher identified in the applicable Apple App Store or Google Play listing. If you do not agree, do not use the product.
2. Eligibility and authority
You must be legally able to agree to these terms. You may document or share a property only when you have the right or permission to do so. Do not use HouseManual to collect information in violation of a lease, contract, confidentiality duty, privacy right, or law.
3. Your records and responsibility
You retain your rights in the content you create or import. You are responsible for its accuracy, lawfulness, backups, security, and the people with whom you share it. Verify model numbers, manuals, safety information, recipients, and export contents. Do not store prohibited credentials, unlawful material, or information that creates unnecessary risk.
4. Safety and professional limits
Do not rely on HouseManual as the only source in an emergency. Leave unsafe conditions, contact local emergency services or the utility from a safe place, follow equipment labels and current official instructions, and use qualified professionals. HouseManual does not diagnose conditions, certify work, determine code compliance, or establish whether a task is safe for you.
Manual discovery, optical character recognition, recall matching, reminders, and generated guidance can be incomplete or wrong. Confirm safety-critical information with the exact manufacturer, authority, or qualified professional.
5. Handoffs, exports, and disclosures
A home handoff is not a substitute for a seller disclosure, inspection report, lease, property record, or other legally required document. You are responsible for satisfying disclosure and recordkeeping duties. Review every PDF, archive, transfer package, photograph, and attachment before sharing. Once a file leaves the app, HouseManual cannot retrieve, revoke, or erase it.
6. Backups and data loss
Automatic iCloud and Google Drive backups depend on device state, network availability, provider authorization, storage quotas, platform behavior, and services outside HouseManual’s control. A status indicator is not a guarantee that every record can be restored. Keep an appropriate independent export and test recovery where the information is important. Do not uninstall or erase the app before confirming that a usable backup exists.
7. Third-party services and content
HouseManual may open Apple, Google, Cloudflare, manufacturer, support, CPSC, email, calendar, or other third-party services. Their terms and privacy policies apply. Links and discovered documents do not imply endorsement or guarantee accuracy, availability, continued access, or permission to redistribute.
8. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the product, interfere with security, reverse engineer where prohibited, introduce malicious files, infringe rights, impersonate others, use the service for surveillance, or automate access in a way that harms the product or another service. Do not use a home manual to facilitate unauthorized entry or unsafe work.
9. Intellectual property
HouseManual’s software, branding, original design, and website content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms provide a limited, personal, revocable right to use the product as intended; they do not transfer ownership of HouseManual.
10. Availability and changes
Features, platform support, pricing, and availability may change. Preview or prerelease builds can be incomplete. Store badges marked “coming soon” do not promise a particular launch date. We may update or discontinue features when reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law and store requirements.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, HouseManual is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free records, fitness for a particular purpose, or suitability for safety-critical reliance. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for data loss, property damage, personal injury, or decisions based on inaccurate records. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these limits may not fully apply.
12. Store-specific terms
Use of an app downloaded through Apple or Google is also subject to the applicable store terms. The store provider is not responsible for HouseManual support except as required by its own terms or law. If these terms conflict with mandatory store conditions, the mandatory conditions control.
13. Governing terms and contact
Any governing-law, venue, or dispute provisions stated by the identified app publisher in the applicable store listing or supplemental terms apply, subject to mandatory consumer protections. Questions can be sent to legal@house-manual.app.
